Hovercraft on ice

Description

Special places require special transport: the frozen Lake Baikal sports the hovercraft, a ship-like vehicle that travels on a giant cushion of air thus it can venture on either ice or water. Two persons roam the ice in the distance. By volume, Lake Baikal is the largest freshwater lake in the world. It contains roughly 20% of the unfrozen freshwater on earth. It's also the deepest lake in the world with its bottom point at 1642 meters. Its surface area covers 31,722 km2, it contains more water than the Great Lakes in North America, combined. In wintertime, the surface freezes, and locals use the ice as transport routes. Lake Baikal, Siberia, Russia.
